Lineart - Abstract,Surreal, MiscellaneousCommentsWhy is the other in with the abstract. As a person who enjoys abstract it is rather annoying to sort through all the other stuff.
I'm sorry it is inconveniencing you, but we do not have enough art to create a separate folder for each category.
Hehe, it's more of the "other" part of the Abstract/Other gallery, that's true. We just don't get a lot of 'abstract' or design type line arts to really constitute having a separate folder for it.
yes, but I saw things that clearly fit folders you guys have, and I was just wondering if there was any moderation over what lines get submitted to what folder, because without that it makes them not as useful, if you have art that shouldn't be where it is when you look where it should be you don't find it. Like for example someone wanting to color like Katara is going to look in the fanart folder first. Though since we can't do things like watch specific folders, it's not it's that big of a deal to me (I find things by going through my inbox).
Ah, well in that case, the answer is yes, the folders are moderated. If somebody submits Katara line art to the Character_Anime folder, they are asked to resubmit to Fanart. If somebody submits a puppy to Anime, it's redirected to Animals/Creatures.
>.> then why is there fanart in the Character_Cartoons, pictures with characters in the Non Character Scenes, colored works (along with things that are extreme cartoon style and fanart) in the Character_Anime, and things with characters in the other folder?
(I don't mean to complain or sound rude.... i love color-me-club, but I think this one of those times where what I say may come off harsh even though I don't mean it that way. I'm just being curious) Be merciful!
Hehe, I don't think you're coming across as rude or harsh. You bring up valid arguments. All I can say is that there are only three of us accepting submissions right now. I know the club founder, `vest is busy with work a lot of the time. I'm a college student myself. And the club gets easily 100 submissions a day. The first thing we do is check colored images for links to the original line artist to make sure credit is given. Then we look at the line art to make sure it's part of our club (we don't accept colored versions of line arts from outside the club due to some line artists complaining about pieces being colored that were not meant for that). We do check the gallery that the images are being submitted to, but I know personally I have a hard time with anime. I know a few general ones, Naruto has that headband with the swirly symbol, Sailor Moon and Pokemon and such, but the rest of them I have to read the artist comment. If someone submits it to Character_Cartoons, I probably won't notice unless it's an anime I happen to have heard of. And some people may think their art is 'semi-realistic' when others would classify it as more 'cartoon'. The folders are definitely a guideline there, not a rule. At the same time we don't want to have twenty moderators because then everyone has their own ideas about what should and shouldn't be accepted. We have high quality standards as far as cleanliness and color-ability but do not have any kind of 'talent' or quality standards. We want the group to be open to everyone, but for everyone to keep their own standards high. I went through and sorted a few of the things you mentioned, like the colored images in the wrong folders. I hope this helps keep it a bit more tidy! I sound like such a neat freak....... i'm not i swear, just look at my room or hdd. and college is fun, stressful and sleep depriving but fun
well one way to tell fan art is if they actually upload it under the fanart category. it doesn't help that there's just SO many anime's.... this coming from an anime fan (sometimes I have to check the category). but yeah going through all of them must be a pain and time consuming. Like I said i love color-me-club, and know you guys put a lot of time into maintain the gallery, which is why i didn't want to come off as rude or mean, especially when i meant to be more and it's not your guys fault things get submitted to the wrong category anyway. (i did it once but it was an oopsy, i just wasn't thinking) |
