---==:star: THE  MARCH LINEART CONTEST :star: ==---

:star: REACH FOR THE STARS/SANCTUARY :star:

You may choose one of two themes this month - either 'Reach for the Stars' or 'Sanctuary.'  You may also attempt to mesh them together in some creative fashion, but you aren't required to.  If you'd rather just run with a single theme, that is perfectly acceptable!

As is the norm (well, new norm...so make that norm-ish...) of #color-me-club contests, debates surged forth from prospective contest participants expressing their worries and tribulations over the impending theme for the month of March.  I didn't expect there to be too much discontent, but just in case I find myself necessitating assistance from a government protection agency and spending the next month dodging hostile voicemails in the depths of a concrete bunker in Utah, participants will get to choose from the top two themes!

You can draw yourself ascending to new heights, traversing the universe, or rocketing to the heavens.  Or, you could make your dream castle or desert island pirate fortress!  Or you could make a towering desert island pirate fortress ascending to new heights like the Tower of Babel was constructed with planks, rum bottles, cannons, and parrot perches.

What is it with my pirate obsession this morning?

For suggesting these themes, not only do *HANAJIMA-UCHIHA and ~Redwind36 get a little sanctuary of their own in the #color-me-club blog...

:iconredwind36: "Perhaps a castle rocketing to the heavens?" :iconhanajima-uchiha:

...But have also won 500 dA points.

PRIZE LISTING

2,000 points by the #color-me-club (see donation poll on :iconcmc-donations: to contribute)
500 points by `vest

I'M DONE!  HOW DO I SUBMIT TO THE CONTEST?

Submit your finished lines to your dA gallery, then send a note to the #color-me-club or `vest.

Entitle the note "March Lineart Submission."  Inside of the note, include a [link] to your lineart.  That's it.  That's all you need to do to submit your entry to the lineart contest.

ANY SPECIAL RULES?

A few.

By contributing your lineart to this contest, you automatically agree to the rules listed herein, and give permission to the #color-me-club to showcase your artwork in the #color-me-club journal.

Only one entry per deviant.

Entries must be dated no earlier than March 1st, 2012.

Entries should be received by April 1st.  While we still accept entries through voting, you understand that late entries will be uploaded when the club is updated, and the artist will lose potential votes with a late entry.

The lineart must be your own.  Ripped or "sampled" lineart will be disqualified.  This includes tracing.  This does not include "referenced" images, you may use any image for reference.  As long as you don't trace an existing image directly, you're free to use any image for reference to help you create your work.

Winners of previous contests ARE allowed to participate.  There are no restraints for how often members can contribute.  The game here isn't about winning.  It's about creating.

You do not have to be a #color-me-club member to participate.  This is open to the whole dA community!

Lastly, have only one artist submit the image.  Collaborative efforts are encouraged.  However, ensure the other collaborator knows the image will be submitted to the contest, and determine who will be representing the image.

Best of luck, everybody!

Haha, I live in Utah, so I wonder if you stated that state just because it isn't really the most well known. XD I like these themes, though. They're interesting, nothing super generic. That's why I love this contest so much!

Both themes sound interesting, especially the first one. :-) After having browsed your group and read the rules I still wonder, if someone can submit purely digitally created lineart (no traced ones of course). And what would be the difference between digital lineart and digital inking? :-O

:iconvest:
Digital lineart is just drawing the lines from scratch in a digital drawing program.

Digital inking would be taking a scanned pencil sketch, then cleaning it up/inking using a digital drawing program.

I see, thank you for answering that question. :-) So, does your group also accept digital lineart for the lineart contests? Browsing your previous lineart winner submissions shows that most were done traditionally, but that some are located in the digital category.
