How it works:

By participating in this contest, you agree that you have read and understand the guidelines herein. Failure to abide by these guidelines may result in your submission not being presented in this journal during the voting portion in September.

If you would like to participate in the August Color Contest, you must be a *color-me-club member. You must also be a carbon-based humanoid (New Jersey residents are, of course, exempt from this rule), and should consult a physician before participation if you are pregnant or have an existing heart condition.

You may color the image however you like, in whatever medium you like. We accept all entries; varying from CG, vector, watercolor, crayon, color pencil, pastel, and koala blood.

Entries are due August 31, 2007. Voting will take place the week afterward. Submissions received after August 31 will not be eligible for votes, so use your time wisely. Submissions received after November 31 will generate many lulz.

You are not allowed to submit multiple entries. You are, however, allowed to submit an image at 50x70 pixel resolution granted you have the forward knowledge you very likely won't win.



How to submit:

Submitting is easy. First, upload the color version to your own gallery or scraps. We do not accept submissions through Email or image hosting sites like Photobucket or Imageshack.

Then send a note to the *color-me-club entitled "AUGUST COLOR CONTEST." In the body of the note, include a [link]* to your colored submission.

Special Rules:

Users found to be BEGGING FOR VOTES either on their submissions, notes, comments, or journals will be automatically DISQUALIFIED.

Let your art speak for yourself. In your deviation description, you MAY state that it is a contest entry for the *color-me-club, and even something like "jolly gee willikers I sure hope I win." However, writing "Hey guys, write a note to the *color-me-club voting for my entry" will result in immediate disqualification.

Other examples of how pandering for votes can disqualify you:
- Starting a forum thread saying "hey vote for me at this contest." The forum mods are quite nice at informing clubs like our's when such a thread pops up.
- Writing a journal demanding your posse of watchers vote for you.
- Sending notes to other deviants telling them to vote for you.
- Writing comments in response to other comments you get on that, or other deviations that tell them to vote for your entry.
- Making a text caption like "VOTE FOR ME" on the image itself.

Pandering for votes is for politicians. We're better than them, we're artists. Just play it safe, and let your own artwork influence the votes. Let the image do the talking.
