What is the Alliance, you ask?
The Alliance is a project group intended to encourage visual and literary artists to work together. I've felt for some time that the dA Literature Community can at times be somewhat insular - to its detriment. We in the Lit Community are also sometimes prone to griping about the lack of exposure our work receives when compared to that of visual artists. So in the spirit of ^thorns brilliant Complaint Challenge I thought I would try to do something about that. And so the Alliance was born!
Because I, your founder, have a deep and abiding love for the seasons, this group now hosts seasonal contests, and as the Winter Contest is now over, it is time for Spring. ^^; I
Single Stock ChallengeHello from the admins of #TheArtOfManipulation! It's time for a new Contest and this one is going to be BIG! :happybounce:
How it Will Work
For this contest, we are going to make things TOUGH. We will provide you with a list of stockers that you can choose from, however you only get to choose ONE stock artist and you must use all stock from that artist. And to make things even harder, you cannot use any human models, premade backgrounds, PNG cut-outs, or brushes (except the preset ones located in your software already). Also you MUST use a minimum of 3 stock images, there is no maximum :)

Gerard's Twitter Icon WinnersGerard's Twitter icon contest had a lot of incredible entries, and I want to give them some recognition. The May "Circus/Flowers" Lineart Contest
A recent poll has shown that apparently you guys like things that are awash in fragrant bouquets of festive colors! This month, we will be holding a lineart contest based around the themes of Circus and Flowers.
While your entries all have the chance to be selected for coloring in next month's coloring contest, the line artists get to now really express themselves with patterns and floral arrangements and wild animals jumping through flaming hoops over sharks on scooters (wait, is the wild animal on a scooter, or the sharks? The answer is yes).
Also, if you would like to help out in this month's contest but don't quite have the chops/time to chalk up a lineart for it, worry not! You can still do your part and get judiciously thanked by contributing to our Donations page! It's like a Kickstarter with fake money to buy real things like prints and subscriptions!

May Lineart Contest - 10 Days Remain!

BULLETIN:

Only 10 days remain until the May 'Zodiac / Seven Deadly Sins' contest ends!  We have gotten a handful of entries so far, but the competition is still thin enough for you guys to all have a fighting chance in this one!

Also!  Donations are still open at :iconcmc-donations:!  We've just eeked past the halfway mark to the goal.  Remember, donors of 50 points or more will get an art feature in the #color-me-club journal!

Lastly.

Just a friendly heads up to my fellow #Group owners and curators.  Ahem...lemme just nudge this soapbox on over here.  There we go.  #Group owners!  If you want a surefire way to get every single one of your members to unwatch you and leave your #Group as a derelict wreck of abandoned floatsam, go right on ahead and plug your own personal little project in every #Group journal you're a part of.  Don't even change the title or anything, just wabam, ten journals with the same exact title right smack dab in my message box!  I love that, because now I don't even need to give an explanation for why I remove you from my watch.  Talk about convenience!

But on a more serious note.  #Group owners, don't ever do that, I was being very sarcastic.  It's a horrible thing to do.  We get enough complaints about posting journals three times a week when contests cycle over.  I can't even imagine the rage poured forth at that one #Group owner...

...Poor guy.

This month, the running was close in a Poll choosing this month's theme (where 'Friendship' came in dead last, you horrible antisocial monsters).  So, as is usual protocol, we're taking the top two, putting all gurgling conflicts to bed, and throwin' y'all a big ol' bone of a deal with the opportunity to pick one of the top two themes: Zodiac or Seven Deadly Sins.

For suggesting these themes, not only do ~graceyanneiseki and =Blaknite get this sparkling plot on our own monthly smathering of astrological hootnanny:

Entitle the note "May Lineart Submission."  Inside of the note, include a [link] to your lineart.  That's it.  That's all you need to do to submit your entry to the lineart contest.



ANY SPECIAL RULES?



A few.

By contributing your lineart to this contest, you automatically agree to the rules listed herein, and give permission to the #color-me-club to showcase your artwork in the #color-me-club journal.

Only one entry per deviant.

Entries must be dated no earlier than May 1st, 2012.

Entries should be received by June 1st.  While we still accept entries through voting, you understand that late entries will be uploaded when the club is updated, and the artist will lose potential votes with a late entry.

The lineart must be your own.  Ripped or "sampled" lineart will be disqualified.  This includes tracing.  This does not include "referenced" images, you may use any image for reference.  As long as you don't trace an existing image directly, you're free to use any image for reference to help you create your work.

Winners of previous contests ARE allowed to participate.  There are no restraints for how often members can contribute.  The game here isn't about winning.  It's about creating.

You do not have to be a #color-me-club member to participate.  This is open to the whole dA community!

Lastly, have only one artist submit the image.  Collaborative efforts are encouraged.  However, ensure the other collaborator knows the image will be submitted to the contest, and determine who will be representing the image.
