The June 1/50 for 150 Contest

Journal Entry: Sat Jun 9, 2012, 12:17 AM
BULLETIN:

Salutations once again!  The time has come back round, and another hefty set of freebies can be your's!  Want your chance to win 150 dA points for absolutely nothing!?  Then +Fav this news article to put yourself in the June 1/50 For 150 Raffle!  For every 50 +Faves this article receives, I will add another winner to the running, so you have at minimum a 1/50 chance of winning*!  Ergo, the silly title of the contest.  Redundant?  Perhaps.  Easy?  Absolutely!

*Up to the first 500 who +Fav this article.  Not eligible for sasquatches,
walking dead, or participants residing in countries south of Antarctica.

So go right on ahead and press that dazzling, intriguing 'Fav This Beauty' button up to the right there.  Because you might just wake up one morning a wee bit richer for it!

"But `vest," you exclaim while stroking that perfect soul patch you've been nitpicking for the last six years.  "While we know how deserving and righteous we are in receiving such a gift, what truly compels you to emotionally scar your accountants so!?"

To which I reply, "Because if you people don't save me from my own impulsive purchases, I'll be drowning in The Legend of Korra merchandise by the end of the month!"

Oh, and to shamelessly promote this June Coloring Contest thing-i-ma-bobber down here...

The :iconcolor-me-club: Presents:

June 'Zodiac / Seven Deadly Sins' Color Contest:

Last month, we held a lineart contest based on the theme of 'Zodiac / Seven Deadly Sins.'  We even had a voting period, and declared a winner!  Here are the five runner-ups from that contest:

For the coloring contest, we won't just be opening up those line arts.  You can use any entry from the May Lineart Contest!  Any one!  You can find all the May entries here: [link]

Take any of those images, and give it some color.  All medium is accepted.  You can color these images with Photoshop, Painter, Gimp, OC, crayons, color pencils, markers, pastels, melted wax, you name it.  If it colors, it's acceptable.

Then upload the finished colored image to your dA gallery.  Images will be accepted until July 1st, and a voting period will be held afterward.

PRIZES.

:bulletyellow: 1000 dA Points from `vest
:bulletyellow: 2,000 dA Points from the #color-me-club (Go to ~CMC-Donations to donate to the prize pool)

If you'd like to donate a prize, use the donation widget on :iconcmc-donations:.  Donors to that prize pool will be featured in the #color-me-club journal.  Donors of 50 points or more will also get a three-thumbnail feature in the #color-me-club journal.

I'M DONE WITH THE COLOR.  NOW WHAT?

Once you have completed your coloring contest entry, submit it to your DeviantArt gallery.  Then, send the #color-me-club a note.  The note should be titled "JUNE CONTEST ENTRY," and the note needs to contain a [link] to your colored image.

ANY SPECIAL RULES?

A few.

By contributing your lineart to this contest, you automatically agree to the rules listed herein, and give permission to the #color-me-club to showcase your artwork in the #color-me-club journal.

Only one entry per deviant.

Entries must be dated no earlier than June  1st, 2012.

Entries should be received by July 1st.  While we still accept entries through voting, you understand that late entries will be uploaded when the club is updated, and the artist will lose potential votes with a late entry.

Winners of previous contests ARE allowed to participate.  There are no restraints for how often members can contribute.  The game here isn't about winning.  It's about creating.

You do not have to be a #color-me-club member to participate.  This is open to the whole dA community!

Lastly, have only one artist submit the image.  Collaborative efforts are encouraged.  However, ensure the other collaborator knows the image will be submitted to the contest, and determine who will be representing the image.

Best of luck, everybody!

So when you're using the lineart...do you need to keep the original lineart directly on there? For I color in a...different matter that requires the line to be a bit different...

The lineart doesn't need to be preserved. You are free to paint over it if you need to, just as long as it doesn't drastically alter the content of the image (for example, erasing the clothes off a character for a cheap effective popularity boost).
