I loved faving news before, especially when it comes to contests and those wonderful deviation features..but now, they're gone.
I've always thought it will be quite fun to fave journals. However, I was thinking of that while eying contests that deviants who prefer to create journals over news hold. I...kind of don't like how the favorite system works now. +_+
I've been faving news articles for quite some time, but I only faved Journals when they were important (such as contest information or sometimes a journal that featured me).
I don't fave a journal where someone talks about their new puppy or how they got an A+ on their history test. I'll say "Sweet! Nicely done!" and move on, but I don't feel that kind of stuff deserves a .
Been faving journals and news for months now since I'm a beta user but I must say I prefer the heart+ so much more... Had to create a special "journals news" folder so they don't get mixed up with the artworks I favourite >.> I still think deviations should apply to artworks only.. *sigh* Most people voted no for this system..but yeah DA /careface.
But hey.. you can just post something about Ponies, Harry Potter, Boobs, cute cat pictures or that you will leave DA and you will get up in the top news
I really do need your input, because I'm trying to find more ways to give our contests lots of exposure to the deviantArt community. The news articles were a perfect means of doing so, as we'd consistently get the top slot on the footer. But now that the news has been replaced by journals, the footer might be a bit more difficult to nudge a spot into now that all the super-popular deviantArt members can get a top slot posting a cute picture of their puppy.

Also, I could use everyone's help on this. Just trying this out for the first time, and I want to see if it works. If you guys could be a collective of fantastic surging fireballs of awesome, please just try out the new journal faving feature on the latest contest announcement here: [link]
If that journal gets over 100 's in the first 24 hours, I will add 500 points to the contest prize pool!
