A couple points affected my vote:

First, this new particular rule was stated up front and none of the others (credit to artist, credit to color-me-club, not begging for votes) are really waived.

Second, having some up for running that have the logo and some not to me would seem slightly lopsided. Maybe just because I like the spirit of the contest so much, but I would probably be much more likely to vote for an entry that had the logo (even if rather small) than one that didn't have it.

*shrug* At the very least I'd like the charity pimped out in the title and comments.

You can find the link to Do1Thing.org on the main page in several places. It pretty much explains that it's charity to help homeless youth. :)

Am I missing something and looking like a fool for asking? I don't know what the Do1Thing is.

It's mentioned on *color-me-club's front page - in the newest journal entry - where it explains what the theme is for the May lineart contest.

Honstly, sir, I think the rules shouldn't be changed. Getting myself into hot water here maybe, but it's not impossible to add the Do1Thing mention (it doesn't have to be a straight logo copy) to any piece of art. It could be a caption on the image itself, the website address that follows one of the lines, any number of ways. And, honestly not trying to be a pain in the rump here, but the artists-while undoubtedly extremely talented-were made aware of the rules before submitting them to the contest.

But maybe I'm biased, I've had the rules changed on me mid-contest one time before, and it annoyed the heck out of me and made the hard work I put in to actually follow the rules seem like it was for nothing.

We've already gotten a couple of really beautiful submissions, and while they definitely match the criteria of the "Impaired" theme, there isn't a feasible way a mention of Do1Thing could be nudged in their image appropriately. I really don't want to turn down these entries, just because of this addendum.

I personally am not disinclined to changing the contest rules mid-way through if it gives more creative freedom to others. So what do you think?
